Finkelstein Doctoral Fellowship

The Fritz Bauer Institute, in cooperation with the Hans and Berthold Finkelstein Foundation, is granting two doctoral scholarships for research into key aspects of the history of I.G. Farben.

The doctoral projects are based at the Chair for the Study of the History and Impact of the Holocaust at Goethe University Frankfurt, which is closely affiliated with the Fritz Bauer Institute. The projects will receive support for 36 months. 

 


The dissertations are expected to address the following research areas:
•    I.G. Farben: Work culture and workplace community in the National Socialist era
•    Approaches to the history of I.G. Farben in Germany after 1945 (in West and/or East Germany)


Applicants should hold an excellent degree in Modern and Contemporary History (Master’s, Magister or Staatsexamen), with a focus on twentieth‑century German history and experience working with contemporary historical sources.
