Who we are

The Hans and Berthold Finkelstein Foundation, a non-profit organization, supports research and remembrance projects on crimes committed during the Nazi era—in particular on the subject of Nazi forced labor and I.G. Farbenindustrie AG, or I.G. Farben for short. 

The Finkelstein Foundation develops programs for a corporate culture characterized by historical and ethical responsibility, contemporary leadership, and democratic action. It promotes dialogue-oriented projects in Europe, Israel, and the US to strengthen resilience against hatred and discrimination—today and in the future. 

Bayer AG established the foundation in 2023 to promote freedom and democracy as a responsible company while also addressing its own role during the Nazi era. Through its work, the foundation honors the history of the Finkelstein family and, in the spirit of its namesakes, combats anti-Semitism, racism, and all forms of discrimination.
