Promoting historical political education to preserve the memory of National Socialist crimes and particularly conveying history to young people, has always been Annemarie’s professional goal. She led various teams at the German Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ) for seven years. Prior to her employment with the Finkelstein Foundation, Annemarie had been responsible for the EVZ's Education and History Department since 2017.

As a historian, she has experience in the field of Holocaust remembrance and education. Annemarie received her master's degree in Public History from the Freie Universität Berlin in Germany. Her research focused on youth under National Socialism as well as the analysis and development of digital and participatory offerings in historical-political education. Prior to joining the EVZ, she worked as an education officer and project manager at the Anne Frank Zentrum e.V.
