The “Learning from History” web portal, run by the Agency for History, Education, and Politics, has been providing online access to scholarly research on 20th-century history for many years. In July 2026, the portal published a magazine on the topic of Nazi forced labor to shed light on some of the less well-known aspects of the topic.
The magazine features a variety of voices whose perspectives broaden our view beyond national borders, thereby highlighting the European dimension of the topic of Nazi forced labor.
The examination of Nazi forced labor is not a closed chapter, and so the magazine presents current research findings as well as remembrance and educational projects. It also places a special focus on companies. The topic continues to call for ongoing research and societal dialogue. To this end, it is essential that not only private individuals but also companies are aware of their historical responsibility.
LaG Magazine provides an informative and stimulating foundation for in-depth discussion by offering insights into research and opening up new perspectives on the remembrance of Nazi crimes.
