Looking back to the future - dealing with the National Socialist era and commitment to democracy in companies

On the 20th of June, as a Finkelstein Foundation initiative in cooperation with the Gesellschaft für Unternehmensgeschichte (Business History Society) and Remembrance, Responsibility and Future Foundation (EVZ), a workshop takes place. The topic of the workshop, that takes place in Frankfurt/Main, is a look back to the future – dealing with the time of National Socialism and Engagement for Democracy in companies.

People in a workshop

During last years a change towards a historically conscious and responsible way of dealing with the past has happened. Many studies about dealing with the time of National Socialism in the companies were published. Business leaders embraced basic democratic values in public. Some companies established educational programs on historical and ethical issues. They realised: The social relevance of remembering, revealing your history and developing a value-based company policy from it is becoming more obvious, considering strengthening of inhuman positioning and right-wing extremist ideology.

But some companies are not sure which activities would be suitable for them or have few resources to implement measures. This is where our workshop shows different ways and possibilities, presents best practice examples and opens up a confidential space for sharing experiences.

The workshop is primarily aimed at people from communication, historical communication, public affairs and corporate social (or political) responsibility.

Unfortunately, all places are already taken. However, if you are interested in this format, please send us an e-mail with your request so that we can put you on the waiting list:
