Diplomacy & Jewish Culture: An educational programme by the World Jewish Congress
A Europe-wide programme that raises awareness among diplomats of Jewish history, culture and the importance of Holocaust remembrance.
In 2026, the Finkelstein Foundation is supporting a comprehensive educational project run by the World Jewish Congress (WJC). At the center of the project are a series of seminars in Geneva, Paris, Strasbourg and Vienna. There, representatives of international organisations such as the United Nations, UNESCO and the Council of Europe will gain in-depth insights into Jewish culture, historical developments and current social issues.
The training sessions will be complemented by museum visits and discussions with Jewish communities. These practical formats facilitate direct encounters and help participants experience Jewish life in all its historical depth and contemporary diversity. At the same time, the workshops will address current forms of antisemitism and highlight the role that diplomatic actors can play in preventing and combating discrimination.
Through ongoing exchange, new international networks are formed that have an impact far beyond the individual events. The aim is for the diplomats to take the knowledge they have acquired back to their home countries and organisations, thereby contributing to responsible diplomatic practice on the ground.
