The Hans and Berthold Finkelstein Foundation and ISD Germany are releasing a new toolkit for educators. This comprehensive manual supports the engagement with antisemitism and anti-Muslim racism in the school context.
It offers practical didactic approaches to promote an open and discrimination-sensitive classroom. Educators receive tools to sensitize students and help them recognize discriminatory structures. The goal is to actively promote equality and social cohesion.
The manual is based on the concept of Global Citizenship Education from UNESCO. It imparts knowledge and skills to verbally challenge ideologies of inequality. Reflective use of digital technologies plays a crucial role in fostering an inclusive democratic society.
Key objectives of the toolkit include:
- Support and orientation for educators
- Raising awareness of power structures and inequalities
- Combating antisemitic and racist incidents
- Providing background knowledge and didactic approaches
- Creating spaces for discussion
- Supporting educators as multipliers
The toolkit includes current research findings and offers interactive exercises for age-appropriate application in the classroom. It is now available and can be accessed here in German language.
